FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know my money is actually going to a Cause?

We tend to make a contribution to the Causes we support either on a monthly or quarterly basis, depending on how much is generated for a Cause every month.

Look out on our Instagram and social media profiles, as we regularly post something to highlight the contributions we make to the Causes we support.

I’m an artist. How can I get involved?

We’re always open to collaborations and if you feel that your work will be a good fit for our brand make sure to email us at info@40elephants.com.

Be sure to include:

  • A brief bio
  • A link to your website
  • Your socials
  • As well as anything else you think we should know about you!

We’ll review your submission and get in touch if we think it may be a good fit.

What are your terms and conditions and store policies?

You can find our Store Policies by visiting: www.40elephants.com/store-policies

You’ll be able to find information on our Store Policies, our Return Policy, Shipping Information and much more.

What is your Return Policy?

We do not accept returns unless your product is damaged or defective.

We have partnered with a leader in the Direct-to-Garment printing industry to help produce our products on-demand, and dropship them to you when they are ordered. This helps us maintain a fixed cost structure that lets us predictably ensure that we can maximize the contributions we make to the Causes and Artists.

If you’re truly unhappy with your purchase please do get in touch with us at info@40elephants.com and we’ll do our best to figure something out.

What are the typical production and shipping times

Typical production and shipping lead times are indicated below:

  • USA: 5 to 8 business days
  • Canada: 6 to 12 business days
  • World: 10 to 20 business days

Please note: that some of our goods may be produced in another part of the world and there may be a chance that you will get charged a small Import Duty when you accept delivery of your purchase.

We have no control over these duties as they are applied through the shipper via the direction of the government body in your country. The customs policy is different in each country, and the fee is usually based on a variety of factors like weight, value, and size.

How do you choose your causes?

We’ve gathered a committee of people from our team to come together and help identify Causes that we feel are building stronger communities, fighting for change and working to make an impact for the better.

We require that any Cause we select is registered as a Charity or Non-Profit in the region that they operate in. We also tend to focus on initiatives that are directly impacting people in the community through their work, rather than ones that are simply looking to raise awareness.

How do you choose which artists to work with?

We collaborate with artists that we admire. Focusing on independent artists that show promise and consistent dedication to their craft. The idea is to help Artists raise more awareness for their work and contribute to helping them generate an income. So more often than not, we seek out individuals who are active in their community and who continue to establish a growing following for their work.

My order never arrived

If your order didn’t end up arriving, be sure to let us know!

First, check your shipping confirmation and check that you had entered the correct address. If the address was incorrect, we’d be happy to send you another order to the correct address, however, it will have to be at your cost.

If the shipping address was correct, get in touch with us at info@40elephants.com making sure to quote your order number. We’ll see what can be done.

Why are we doing this?

We created 40ELEPHANTS as an avenue to experiment with our own creative ideas as well as a medium to collaborate with other independent creatives that we admire. We also wanted to find a way to support the causes we think are important, that are actively working to bring awareness and change to the challenges faced by our communities. Through this initiative, we’re able to help fund both artists and causes directly through the sale of each good.

How does 40Elephants benefit from this?

This platform primarily helps us raise funds for Causes and supports independent Artists we admire. It empowers our community through direct action and access to capital, which then helps build more resilient and diverse communities.

This is important to us as much of our work beyond this initiative happens by working with and consulting for businesses in these communities that we serve through our agency arm LFTFIELD.

From every sale roughly 40% of the proceeds go towards production, 20% goes to a Cause, 20% goes to an Artist and roughly 20% is used to cover our operating and marketing costs. In cases where there are some funds left over after everything that has been paid out, we take that as a nominal profit, which usually ends up being around 1 or 2% of the selling price.

Ultimately, we’re not doing this to bank a ton of money, but rather to help support our communities and the creative souls that live within them.
